Spirit's Power | Pastor Jon Neitzell
What would happen if we stopped trying to choreograph our encounters with God and simply let the Holy Spirit lead? This powerful gathering reveals the transformative truth that God's love for us surpasses anything we can imagine—even the fierce love we have for our own children is merely a fraction of His heart toward us. Drawing from Philippians 4 and the invitation in Matthew 11 to come to Jesus when we're weary and heavy-laden, we're challenged to release the burdens we've been carrying—the hurts, offenses, and people we've been trying to change in our own strength. The message is clear: we cannot fix what's broken in ourselves or others, but God can. When we confess our sins, 1 John 1:9 promises He is faithful and just to forgive and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. This isn't just theological truth—it's an invitation to actually believe we've been changed from the inside out, even when we don't feel it. The Lord's Prayer becomes a model for mature faith, one without whining or complaining, where we ask not for what we want but for what Jesus wants. We're called to move beyond simply knowing about the Holy Spirit to actually experiencing His presence as our Helper, Counselor, and Advocate—the One who knows what we need before we do and speaks directly into our circumstances with perfect love and wisdom.
