Week Devoted to God | Pastor Duane Sheriff
This powerful message confronts us with a sobering reality: we live in an age of unprecedented deception, where truth itself has become a battleground. Drawing from John 8:31-32 and Jesus's declaration that continuing in His Word leads to knowing truth that makes us free, we're challenged to recognize that if truth liberates, then lies enslave. The sermon forces us to examine how demonic spirits of deception operate through media, culture, and institutions to bring masses into bondage. We're reminded that Jesus came into this world specifically to testify of the truth (John 18:37), and that everyone who is of the truth hears His voice. This isn't just theological theory—it's intensely practical. When we understand that the cultural war isn't between political parties but between truth and lies, everything changes. The Word of God becomes our anchor, our weapon, and our guide. Jesus told Pilate that He was born to bear witness to the truth, and those who belong to the truth recognize His voice. In these last days, our ability to discern truth from deception will mark us as God's people. The call is clear: we must return to the Word, teach it to our children, and refuse to be swept away by narratives that contradict Scripture, no matter how compassionate or tolerant they appear on the surface.
